OnlyFans shares new TOS for “sexually explicit conduct”: no intercourse, masturbation, exhibition of genitals; any such content must be removed before Dec. 1(Onlyfans Tos Dec.lawler The Verge)

OnlyFans raises the bar when it comes to “sexually explicit conduct”. According to the new Terms of Service, it is not permitted to engage in intercourse, masturbation, or display of genitals.

This is OnlyFans’ new policy for banning sexually explicit content on its website

The use of simulated or real masturbation, whether it is real or simulated, is not permitted on campus

OnlyFans, a website for sharing videos and images, announced plans on Thursday that they would be banning “sexually-explicit content” starting on October 1st. Although we are still unsure what’s behind the drastic change to the site, it has just sent out an updated Terms of Service policy to all the creators behind the site that clearly details exactly what will not be allowed in the future.

When compared to the old Acceptable Use Policy, the additions in the new OneFans Acceptable Use Policy are quite obvious:

On OnlyFans, you are not allowed to upload, post, display, or publish any content that:

  • In other words, the displays, promotion, advertising, or mentions of “sexually explicit conduct” means that it shows:
  • It includes genital-genital, oral-genital, anal-genital, or oral-anal sexual activity between persons of any sex, including every type of genital-genital, oral-genital, or oral-anal activity;
  • A masturbatory act or a simulation of a masturbatory act;
  • It would be offensive if a person exhibits their anus, genitals or any other part of their body in an extreme or offensive manner;
  • The material depicts bodily fluids commonly secreted during sexual conduct either in the form of real or simulated materials;
  • There must be a complete removal of all existing Content that displays, promotes, advertises, or refers to “sexually explicit conduct” (defined in section 5(b) of this Policy) by December 1, 2021, or by such other date as we may communicate to Users at the time.

As far as other parts of the policy pertaining to deepfakes, drugs, or violence are concerned, they remain the same. According to an email they sent to OnlyFans creators, the site specified that as long as the content is consistent with the site’s policies, it will continue to be okay to show off body parts in your posts. You can show off body parts in your posts, just don’t zoom in too close or do anything explicit. A breach of this agreement can result in your account being suspended or terminated, and you will no longer be able to access your earnings.

With its billion-dollar business and brand built on the content provided by sex workers, OnlyFans has built its business and brand around precisely the kind of content that has been banned by the government. In order to ensure that all traces of the suddenly unacceptable content have been removed from the profiles of these content creators, they have until December 1, 2018.
